In classical fear conditioning, neutral conditioned stimuli (CS) that have been paired with aversive physical unconditioned stimuli eventually trigger fear responses. Here, we test whether aversive mental images systematically paired with a CS may also cause de novo fear learning in the absence of any external aversive stimulation. In two experiments, N=45 and N=41 participants were first trained to produce aversive, neutral, or no imagery in response to one of three different visual imagery cues. In a subsequent imagery-based differential conditioning paradigm, each of the three cues systematically co-terminated with one of three different neutral faces. Although the face that was paired with the aversive imagery cue was never paired with aversive external stimuli or threat-related instructions, participants rated it as more arousing, unpleasant, and threatening and displayed relative fear bradycardia and fear-potentiated startle. These results could be relevant for the development of fear and related disorders without trauma.

... Many metal components, especially large-sized ones, need to be ground or deburred after turning or milling to improve the surface qualities, which heavily depends on human interventions. Robot arms, combining movable platforms, are applied to reduce the human work. However, robots and human should work together due to the fact that most of the large-sized parts belong to small-batch products, resulting in a large number of programming for operating a robot and movable platform. Targeting the problem, this paper proposes a new interface architecture towards minimum programming in human-robot collaboration. Within the context, a four-layer architecture is designed: user interface, function block (FB), functional modules and hardware. The user interface is associated with use cases. Then, FB, with embedded algorithms and knowledge and driven by events, is to provide a dynamic link to the relevant application interface (APIs) of the functional modules in terms of the case requirements. The functional modules are related to the hardware and software functions; and the hardware and humans are considered in terms of the conditions on shop floors. This method provides three-level applications based on the skills of users: (1) the operators on shop floors, can operate both robots and movable platforms programming-freely; (2) engineers are able to customise the functions and tasks by dragging/dropping and linking the relevant FBs with minimum programming; (3) the new functions can be added by importing the APIs through programming.

... The Fharvard corpus is a collection of 700 sentences in French, phonetically balanced into 70 lists of 10 sentences each. Each sentence contains 5 keywords for scoring. The list of sentences is contained in the file The Fharvard corpus.pdf with keywords in bold. The phonetic transcription is provided in The Fharvard corpus - phonetic.txt. The ortho column contains the orthographic representation of the sentence with keywords in capital letters. The phono column contains the phonetic representation in SAMPA coding, with words separated by two successive space characters. Note that the phonetic representation is provided on an individual word basis, that is, discarding word-to-word liaisons. This is to provide an unambiguous basis for phonetic balancing at the keyword level, as the realisation of some liaisons can vary from talker to talker. Audio recordings of the Fharvard sentences spoken by a female and a male talker are contained in the .zip archive files, and available with a 44.1 kHz and 16 kHz sampling rate. A sample sentence for the female and the male talker is also attached.

... A project done as part of the "Urbane Feldforschung" seminar in Humboldt University of Berlin in 2018. This is a project on Akan Twi Asante, a language spoken in Ghana. The subject is the usage of phrasal verbs (emu) ye den, (emu) ye duru and (emu) ye hare in the Asante dialect of Akan Twi. Collected data includes 6 glossed sentences in Akan on the topic mentioned above and 56 words from the Swadesh List.

Im Rahmen des Masterseminars "Urbane Feldforschung" am Institut für deutsche Sprache und Linguistik der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin führten wir im Sommersemester 2018 unter der Leitung von Herrn Dr. Frank Seifart das gleichnamige Projekt durch. Es handelt sich hierbei um die Dokumentation und den ersten Kontakt mit kleinen Sprachen in Berlin. In diesem Teilprojekt wurde die kirgisische Sprache näher betrachtet. Es wurden eine Wortliste (40 ASJP-Wörter aus der Swadesh-Liste), zwei freie Erzählungen und eine Aufnahme konstruierter Sätze erhoben.
