Dataset on validation of TRNSYS building model for a prefabricated house built in Australia
This dataset includes data from the validation of TRNSYS building model for a prefabricated house built in Australia. The simulated indoor temperatures were compared with the measured ones in Melbourne. The comparison was carried out for the period between 19:00:00 on 31 March 2018 and 00:00:00 on 2 April 2018. Coefficient of determination (R²), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Bias Error (MBE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Correlation Coefficient (CC) were applied for quantification of the agreement between simulated and measured temperatures.
Steps to reproduce
1. Set loggers time and recording time step, and place at the selected locations. 2. Collect temperatures and relative humidity data for the duration. 3. Download the recorded data. 4. Obtain one-minute weather data from the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology (BOM). 5. Verify the data from loggers by comparing with data from BOM. 6. Generate hourly weather data file in TRNSYS Type99. 7. Develop a building model <*.b18> in TRNBuild and TRNSYS project file <*.tpf> in Simulation Studio. 8. Generate deck file <*.dck>. 9. Calibrate the unknown infiltration rate to achieve maximum accuracy or minimum prediction errors. 10. Validate the generated building model by comparing measured and predicted indoor temperatures in selected spaces.
