Data for: Quantifying regional vegetation changes in China during three contrasting temperature intervals since the Last Glacial Maximum

Description

A total of 249 pollen records since the LGM were selected (see Table S1), including 68 sites for 18±2 kyr B.P. (14C timescale), 103 sites for 8.5±0.5 kyr B.P. (14C timescale) and 218 sites for 6±0.5 kyr B.P. (14C timescale) (Table S2). The above pollen data were derived from the China Quaternary Pollen Data Base (CQPD) and the newly added sites from the published literatures. Within this dataset, about 44% of the pollen records (110 sites) consist of raw data with complete pollen assemblages and pollen percentage data (Table S1). The remnant data were digitized from publications (Table S1). The quality of the dating control for the three time slices (Table S2) was assessed by assigning a rank from 1 to 7, using ranking schemes from the Cooperative Holocene Mapping (COHMAP) project (Webb, 1985). The vegetation were reconstructed using biomization, following the classification of plant functional types (PFTs) and biome assignment in China by the Members of China Quaternary Pollen Data (CQPD), using the 3PBase software (Guiot and Goeury, 1996). The pattern of palaeovegetation distribution was displayed in Table S5.
