Description

Abstract Described is a 9421 line Fortran program PiN that solves momentum-space integral Lippmann-Schwinger equations for the scattering observables and the bound/resonant state properties of the coupled (πN, πΔ) system. The elementary interactions arise from the chiral color-dielectric quark and the cloudy bag models, which are computed by the code. The bound state wave functions of the quarks are computed by a separate code. Title of program: PiN Catalogue Id: ADHA_v1_0 Nature of problem The subatomic interactions between mesons and baryons is believed to arise from the interaction between the quarks and gluons contained within the particles. This difficult many-body field theory problem is modeled by considering only the baryons as bound states of quarks, and by treating the mesons as elementary fields. The gluon degrees of freedom are averaged out of the theory, resulting in an effective color dielectric field which binds the quarks within the baryons. The scattering and bound ...
