Description

Abstract Given are samples of points on several parallel sheets. Most of these are intersection points of straight lines originating from a common “vertex” outside the sheets. The TRP reconstructs these lines and their origin, the vertex. Title of program: VERT VER. 3.1, EMUFIT VER. 4.1 Catalogue Id: ABFU_v1_0 Nature of problem In high energy heavy ion physics nucleus-nucleus collisions produce particles moving in a narrow cone along the beam axis. In a typical experiment using emulsion chambers with gold targets there are multiplicities of singly charged particles observed of the order of 500. The beam was in this case 32S of 200 GeV/nucleon. Versions of this program held in the CPC repository in Mendeley Data ABFU_v1_0; VERT VER. 3.1, EMUFIT VER. 4.1; 10.1016/0010-4655(89)90080-5 This program has been imported from the CPC Program Library held at Queen's University Belfast (1969-2019)
