Abstract A computer program for 2-d electron diffraction pattern simulation has been developed under the DEC Micro-VAX II/Micro-VMS environment. Diffraction patterns or images formed by focusing an electron beam of arbitrary energy on a sample can be simulated. The 3-d sample structure can be either pre-calculated or on-line generated based on the symmetry and other necessary information provided by the user. The simulation helps researchers to understand various electron diffraction phenomena observed experimentally and to predict new ones.
