How to calculate the Root Mean Square Error between experimental data and MC simulations

The data for ETFE_13C-NMR(raw), Ir-ETFE_13C-NMR(raw), 30-GM_13C-NMR(raw) and Results for 13C-NMR(processed) are used in Figure1. The data for Results for FT-IR grafting yield(processed)is used in Figure3 and 4. The data for Results for GY and Contact angle is used in Figure2 and 5. The data for Results for TGA(raw) is used in FigureS1. The data for Results for UV-vis(raw) is used in FigureS2.

Figures presented in this folder present the comparison between data simulated by PENELOPE and XFCTLab, which have been used to confirm the correctness of analytical simulator proposed for X-ray fluorescence computed tomography. In the legend box of each plot, the number followed "PENELOPE" (e.g. PENELOPE 2e2) indicates how many photons have been simulated at each translation position. Due to the usage of variance reduction technique, it is assumed simulating 2 million photons per translation position with PENELOPE (indicated in figure as: PENELOPE 2e6) is sufficiently close to the ground truth.

The compressed file attached above contains comparison of fluorescence sinogram of Fe-K-alpha line collected from a laboratory-based XFCT scanner and that simulated by the analytical simulator reported hereby at 120 projection angles along 360 degrees. With access to such dataset, reviewers and potential readers could have a better understanding of the accuracy of the reported simulation method.

The "experiment 3.2.rar" file is the experiments results of part 3.2 of paper. In this file, the .3DS format files are 3dsMax model; txt format files are results of VKT code; mc format files are results of MCNP. The "FDConvertFactor.mdb" file is the convert factor usd for MCNP. The "point kernel data.rar" file is the database used in VTK code.
