Description

Abstract LUCIAE is a Monte Carlo program that, connected to FRITIOF, implements both the Firecracker Model (FCM), a possible mechanism for collective multi-gluon emission from the colour fields of interacting strings, as well as the reinteraction of the final state hadrons in relativistic pA and AA collisions. This paper includes a brief presentation of the dynamics of the model as well as a description of the program. Title of program: LUCIAE VERSION 2 Catalogue Id: ADBS_v1_0 Nature of problem The experiments of relativistic pA and AA collisions reveal that high energy heavy-ion collisions have some features which can not be understood in a framework where pA and AA collisions correspond to simple superpositions of independent nucleon-nucleon collisions. The low Pt enhancement, high Pt enhancement, strangeness enhancement etc. clearly show that some collective effects are active in the relativistic pA and AA collisions. Formation of a QGP is often suggested to be a candidate for these ...
