This dataset consists of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) recordings taken at the surface (BoulderPatch_surfacePAR.csv) and underwater (BoulderPatch_uwPAR.csv). The dataset spans from 1984 to 2016. For surface readings, cosine PAR sensors (LI-192SA, LI-COR Inc.) were deployed with LI-COR dataloggers (LI-1000, LI-1400) to collect continuous surface light measurements at East Dock in Prudhoe Bay (1986-1987) and on Endeavor Island at Endicott (1987-2016). For underwater readings, spherical quantum sensors (LI-193SA, LI-COR Inc.) were placed ~0.5 m above the benthos at sites across the Boulder Patch alongside dataloggers deployed within watertight housings from 1984-2016. Measurements of PAR were made every minute and then integrated and averaged once every 1 or 3 hours, depending on site and study year. Both files include, date, time (AKDT), and PAR (umol m-1 s-1). The underwater file includes site (see BoulderPatchMap.pdf).
