Description

Assessing efficiency of MS-222 and Eugenol (clove oil) as anesthetic agents in a freshwater amphipod: (1) dose effects of MS-222 on induction and recovery time (sedation), (2) monitoring of locomotion activity and oxygen consumption during induction and during recovery (sedation), (3) analgesic-like effect (delayed behavioural response to a noxious stimulus), (4) physiological side-effects. The datafile comprises one folder for each experiments (4). This study should contribute to knowledge about nociception in Crustaceans, as well as designing practical procedures in anesthesia for aquatic invertebrates.
