Description

We report on a data set of water isotopes in precipitation and lake water (Lake Ditkevi) collected between June 2015 and November 2020 in the Chirripó National Park, Costa Rica.

Steps to reproduce

Between June 2015 and November 2020 precipitation samples (N = 485) were collected at the Base Crestones shelter (-83.480°, 9.460°, 3400 m asl) on the Pacific slope of Chirripó, using a passive collector. Samples were collected manually on every rainy day at 07:00 hr (−06:00 GMT). Lake water samples were collected at Lake Ditkevi (-83.481°, 9.469°, 3506 m asl) following a roughly biweekly/monthly sampling plan. Stable isotope analyses of precipitation and lake water samples were conducted at the Stable Isotope Research Group facilities of the National University (Heredia, Costa Rica) using a cavity ring down spectroscopy water isotope analyzer L2120-i (Picarro, USA) and a LWIA-45-EP water isotope analyzer (Los Gatos, USA).
