  • Easily Prepared Graphene Anchored PVDF-hydrolized Cellulose Photocatalytic Composite
    Graphene-like metal oxide photocatalyst (G-Mox) was prepared in a low-cost single step carbonization process. Photocatalytic polymeric composites were prepared by phase separation technique. Hydrolyzed cellulose-PVDF (Phc) solution prepared from textile waste was mixed with PVDF. Physicochemical and structural properties of powder and composites were characterized by X ray diffractometer, SEM, FT-IR analysis. Photoluminescence and surface area analysis of photocatalyst were carried out with contact angle measurements. The photocatalytic properties of the synthesized composites were evaluated using the methyl orange (MO) as a model pollutant. The highest decolorization percentage was obtained as 91.8% with the Phc-20 composite. XRD diffraction patterns provide very descriptive information about the prepared composite. 2 theta=37, 48, 55 and 68º, which indicate TiO2 existence of the anatase phase in high compatibility with JCPDS files Anatase:21-1272 in the G-TiO2 and Ge-TiO2-Fe structure. The presence of cellulose in the diffraction pattern of Phc is evident from the sharp 22.7º with peaks in the range of 14-17º. In addition, the distinct peaks observed around 18 and 20º indicate the contribution of alpha phase PVDF. The crystal structure of the Phc composite showed great similarity to the our previous study. In the composites, starting from Phc-5, the 2theta=27º graphite peak emerged with TiO2 and graphene peaks. This value became most evident in Phc-30, which contains the highest solid.

  • Building and Developing Core Teaching Skills via Reflective Micro-Teaching
    Teaching is a complex profession; and therefore, micro-teaching is needed to scale down its complexity to train pre-service teachers for future real teaching. However, micro-teaching experiences without reflection are insufficient for building or developing professional teaching skills. Therefore, this book aims at building and developing essential teaching skills through reflective micro-teaching in which teacher trainees, individually and collectively, reflect on their own micro-teaching practices with the assistance of reflection forms in controlled teaching environments. The book consists of three chapters. The first chapter covers the conceptual and theoretical framework of reflective micro-teaching. The second chapter deals with video-mediated microteaching as a stimulus for reflection. The third chapter includes the conceptual and theoretical framework of the core teaching skills and provides reflection forms that help teacher trainees to reflect on their own and one another's micro-teaching practices, for building and developing these core skills.

    The results of CAE modeling of thermal conductivity properties of porous materials based on TPMS Schwarz P, Neovius, Schoen IWP are presented. The data can be used for creating materials with pre-defined thermal conductivity characteristics. The parameter "a" represents the size of the cube in which one elementary cell is inscribed. The wall thickness characterizes the thickness of the solid layer limited by symmetrical equidistant surfaces from the original TPMS. The results are presented for porous materials with air inside the inter-pore space as well as for the structure in a vacuum (without considering air in the inter-pore space).
