... U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Huntington District archaeological collections were sent to the Veterans Curation Program's (VCP) Alexandria laboratory in September 2014. The Alexandria VCP laboratory is a USACE, St. Louis District's Mandatory Center of Expertise for the Curation and Management of Archaeological Collections program, which is staffed through the archaeological contracting firms, Cogstone-Berger, JV. The procedures employed to re-house the archaeological material from the Archaeological Survey of Beech Fork Lake 1973-1975 investigation are discussed below and follow those procedures utilized by the Alexandria VCP laboratory. In the rehousing process of each investigative effort of the USACE, Huntington District collection, the same standard procedures and Archaeological Collections Facility, Grave Creek Mound Historic Site guidelines were followed. Upon completion of the curation management project, the collection was sent to Archaeological Collections Facility, Grave Creek Mound Historic Site for permanent curation. ... This project details work done as part of the Goodman Point Archaeological Project, the field portion of which lasted from 2005 to 2011. Specifically, the Community Testing part of the project focused on test excavations of smaller habitation sites and a great kiva in the Goodman Point Ruins Group Unit of Hovenweep National Monument from 2008 to 2011. This project contains maps, photos, and associated logs explaining what is depicted on each image.
