Eye-tracking Technology in Identifying Visualizers and Verbalizers- Data on Eye-movement Differences and Detection Accuracy

Contributors: Zhanni Luo

Date: 2019-12-02

... The current experiment aims to reveal the eye movement differences of visualizers and verbalizers in viewing four pictures-in-text by analyzing gaze plot path and fixation data (fixation duration, fixation counts and the average time on each fixation). Even though learning style theory and its traditional assessment approach were criticized for various reasons, there is a lack of commonly-accepted alternatives for now. Therefore, to assess the accuracy of eye-tracking technology in identifying learners of these two types (visual or verbal), the traditional pencil-and-paper approach was also adopted for comparison. For this experiment, the Index of Learning Styles (ILS) questionnaire was selected. This dataset presents the experiment materials (File 1), answer sheet and ILS questionnaire (File 2), raw data exported from Tobii eye-tracker (File 3 and 4), and the organized data (File 5 and 6). File 5 is the organized raw data which merges the raw data for different documents into one excel. File 6 contains the result of self-report learning styles, either visual or verbal, as well as the calculation process.

Data in CSV format will be regularly uploaded to this repository. ## License This data is released under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. This data is in timeseries CSV format and can be opened with most major data processing tools. ## Sound Data This is the raw sound level data collected from a number of bench sites. It does NOT contain audio - it is a high-resolution timeseries of sound level recordings in dB taken from a range of sites in the study. This data is raw and has not been parsed or sampled. For a simplified version sampled at 5-minute intervals, see the main aggregated data file described above. ## BBQ Data This folder contains data relating to the use of barbecue areas under the smart social spaces study. It has been edited for clarity and contains a number of graphic visualisations to aid in analysis, in excel format.

Semi-systematic literature citation database identifying research opportunities for more sustainable receiver led inbound logistics flows to large urban municipal organisations.

Contributors: Thomas Zunder

Date: 2019-12-01

... These citations databases support a semi-systematic literature review identifying research opportunities for more sustainable receiver led inbound logistics flows to large urban municipal organisations. The literature - a body of 229 works - was reviewed using online scholarly databases: the NOVELOG toolkit database, a CASP checklist, and textual-graphical analysis using word clouds. A two-stage approach was deployed, first scoping using a semi-systematic approach, then a narrative review, guided by the systematic review in terms of literature survey and selection.

Tabulated results for automatically controlled angiogenic inhibition therapy based on sliding mode technique

Contributors: Ozgur R Doruk

Date: 2019-11-30

... A sliding mode based inhibitory agent injection law is derived using the angiogenic inhibition model of cancer progression which describes the variation of the tumor and supporting vasculature volumes in targeted molecular therapies. The data set present the most important results that indicate the performance of the closed-loop treatment. Each column represents the current value of the related parameter. The first six parameters are the PID sliding surface and sliding mode dynamical constants. These are the proportional gain (Kp), integral gain (Ki), D derivative gain (Kd), the constant \eta, \gamma and the sigmoid slope parameter 'c'. The remaining are the desired final value of the tumor volume (r), the actual final value of the tumor volume (x1(infty)) and supporting vasculature volume (x2(infty)), maximum value of the inhibitory agent administration rate (umax), final value of the inhibitory agent rate (u(infty)) and the setup time which is the duration required to decrease the tumor volume to to 1% of its initial level. The results are obtained from a small C program. The developments are made by MATLAB.

Efficient implementation of the continuous-time hybridization expansion quantum impurity solver

Contributors: Hartmut Hafermann, Philipp Werner, Emanuel Gull

Date: 2019-11-29

... Abstract Strongly correlated quantum impurity problems appear in a wide variety of contexts ranging from nanoscience and surface physics to material science and the theory of strongly correlated lattice models, where they appear as auxiliary systems within dynamical mean-field theory. Accurate and unbiased solutions must usually be obtained numerically, and continuous-time quantum Monte Carlo algorithms, a family of algorithms based on the stochastic sampling of partition function expansions, perform ... Title of program: ct-hyb Catalogue Id: AEOL_v1_0 Nature of problem Quantum impurity models were originally introduced to describe a magnetic transition metal ion in a nonmagnetic host metal. They are widely used today. In nanoscience they serve as representations of quantum dots and molecular conductors. In condensed matter physics, they are playing an increasingly important role in the description of strongly correlated electron materials, where the complicated many-body problem is mapped onto an auxiliary quantum impurity model in the context of dynamical mea ... PyFR: An open source framework for solving advection–diffusion type problems on streaming architectures using the flux reconstruction approach

Contributors: Freddie Witherden, A.M. Farrington, P.E. Vincent

Date: 2019-11-29

... Abstract High-order numerical methods for unstructured grids combine the superior accuracy of high-order spectral or finite difference methods with the geometric flexibility of low-order finite volume or finite element schemes. The Flux Reconstruction (FR) approach unifies various high-order schemes for unstructured grids within a single framework. Additionally, the FR approach exhibits a significant degree of element locality, and is thus able to run efficiently on modern streaming architectures, suc... Numerical modeling of exciton–polariton Bose–Einstein condensate in a microcavity

Contributors: Oksana Voronych, Adam Buraczewski, Michał Matuszewski, Magdalena Stobińska

Date: 2019-11-29

... Abstract A novel, optimized numerical method of modeling of an exciton–polariton superfluid in a semiconductor microcavity was proposed. Exciton–polaritons are spin-carrying quasiparticles formed from photons strongly coupled to excitons. They possess unique properties, interesting from the point of view of fundamental research as well as numerous potential applications. However, their numerical modeling is challenging due to the structure of nonlinear differential equations describing their evolution... Title of program: EPCGP Catalogue Id: AFBQ_v1_0 Nature of problem An exciton-polariton superfluid is a novel, interesting physical system allowing investigation of high temperature Bose-Einstein condensation of exciton-polaritons-quasiparticles carrying spin. They have brought a lot of attention due to their unique properties and potential applications in polariton-based optoelectronic integrated circuits. This is an out-of-equilibrium quantum system confined within a semiconductor microcavity. It is described by a set of nonlinear differential equations simil ...
