“Move what cannot be moved. Build where nothing exists.”
01 — ABSTRACT
VT Architecture v3.0 is an open-source modular terrain mobility platform designed to achieve extremely high payload efficiency in environments where conventional vehicles cannot operate.
Developed by Kaveh Dimitri Salahi as a humanitarian engineering system, it is intended for fabrication using basic tools, locally available materials, and minimal infrastructure.
The system is built around three core mechanical subsystems that function as a unified platform:
The AIRChain Propulsion Track is a continuous loop track composed of independently air-filled flexible cylinders connected by a structural chain backbone. Each cylinder adapts to terrain irregularities, distributes load across a wide surface, and compresses into a sealed interface against an internal guide rail under load.
The Single Wide-Roller Front Steering Unit is a large pneumatic cylinder mounted on a simple fork system, providing flotation, shock absorption, and direct mechanical steering without electronics or hydraulics.
The Inner Rail Locking System is a fixed structural channel integrated into the chassis that captures the track during ground contact, stabilizes alignment, and prevents debris intrusion through continuous pressure sealing.
Together, these systems form a lightweight mobility platform targeting payload-to-weight ratios of 4:1 or higher, with a projected build cost under $600 USD for the base prototype (VT-0). The design is fully modular, supporting interchangeable mission systems for medical, agricultural, construction, water transport, and disaster response applications.
Core Principle: One platform. Any mission. Any terrain. Built anywhere. Fixed anywhere.
