<dc:title>Social communication in V. vulgaris: datasets on preference and recruitment</dc:title>
    <dc:publisher>Mendeley Data</dc:publisher>
<dc:description>The file Social communication in Vespula vulgaris: datasets on preference and recruitment contains the raw data used in the study entitled "Recruitment-related foraging mechanisms are not conserved across invasive Vespula wasps: evidence from protein foraging in Vespula vulgaris". The dataset includes the results of experiments evaluating V. vulgaris responses to visual and olfactory conspecific cues, as well as data from recruitment and communication assays conducted at protein baits under three experimental conditions: (1) communication at both the resource and the nest was allowed; (2) only communication at the nest was allowed; and (3) communication was prevented.

The data are organized into two worksheets within the Excel file: (1) Preference without food and (2) Recruitment and communication.</dc:description>
