Chaumel, Julia Skin denticle diversity in the giant manta and the lesser devil ray: a three-dimensional analysis Mendeley Data Our study characterizes the dermal denticle morphology of two mobulid ray species (order Myliobatiformes, family Myliobatidae): Mobula birostris (giant manta ray) and Mobula hypostoma (lesser devil ray). Denticle morphology in both species was analyzed using micro–computed tomography (micro-CT) datasets and high-resolution imaging.
