Brahma, Kaushiki Abusive RPT dataset Mendeley Data There are total sample of 36 companies with 66 firm-year observations and 102 abusive RPT observations. Our sample consists of 36 non-financial companies against which SEBI orders have been passed to engage in abusive RPTs between 2010 and 2020. We started our observations in 2010, as RPT regulatory reforms started one year after Satyam Scam. We have limited our sample to listed non-financial companies, as financial companies have specific regulations governing RPTs (Mishra and Kapil, 2018). We extracted the nature of abusive RPT, the nature of related parties involved in abusive RPT and abusive RPT amounts from SEBI orders. We collected data on the ownership structure and firm performance of 36 companies from Prowess, a comprehensive database on Indian companies maintained by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy.
