ALEXIS, DZOKOM Economic index of Ecological Charcoal Based on Prosopis juliflora_Eichhornia crassipes Mix and their carbon sequestration potential Mendeley Data The objective of this study is to evaluate the economic quality of charcoal based on Prosopis juliflora linked to Eichhornia crassipes and to determine its index economic value. The density of the charcoal based on Prosopis juliflora (50≤%) and Eichhornia crassipes (50≥%) is 0.395±0.037g/cm3 with the average humidity rate before drying of 48.89±14.03%, a low porosity (0.17±0.01) and a low average impact resistance index of 69.37±5.93%. With an average calorific value of 17.56±0.96 kJ/kg and a specific calorific capacity of 0.596±0.004kJ/kg/K, these dry ecological charcoals fix on average 58.24±24.54% of carbon and sequester on average 1194.31±1512.21kg of CO2/year. The average weighted mass yield of these ecological coals is 90.096±1.5136% while its technological yield is 5.076±0.288%. For an average commercial yield of 1.2535±0.0034%, the average Economic Value index would be 1.5875±0.1510, which leads to a local sales price of 238.125±22 .6528 FCFA/KG (i.e. €0.36/KG).
