This file contains data used to calculate subsurface flow and transport at the Pumphouse Lower Montane (PLM) hillslope transect. Information includes locations, weather data, hydraulic conductivities, hydraulic head profiles, soil water profiles, depths to the water table, specific conductance (SC) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in pore waters, water isotopic composition, calculated subsurface fluxes, calculated subsurface transport concentrations for SC and DOC, East River discharge and SC, transect soil particle-size distributions, and moisture characteristic curves.

This dataset is a compilation of 931 measurements of river bank erosion from 290 rivers and streams compiled from 159 published English language studies. The dataset spans rivers across latitudes ranging from 46 deg south to 70.5 deg north. The rivers range in drainage area from 0.15 to 3.2 million square kilometers. If provided in a published study, recorded channel width, river drainage area, and sediment load and/or yield were summarized. In the absence of these ancillary data from the original source, this data was compiled from other published studies, global and regional datasets, or measured representative widths from Google Earth images. The dataset also provides information on whether the rates were measured at an individual river bend or represent reach-based averages, as well as, whether the river is single or multi-threaded.

Data tables used in Christensen et al. 2018 Using strontium isotopes to evaluate the spatial variation of groundwater recharge, Science of The Total Environment, 637-638, 672-685 DOI: 10.1016/j.scitotenv.2018.05.019 Files include Sr and U isotopic (87Sr/86Sr and 234U/238U) and concentration data for groundwaters, porewaters, and surface waters at the Rifle, Colorado field site, as well as mass balance modeling results for the percentage of vadose zone porewater in groundwater.

Measurements of leaf mass per area (LMA) and fresh-leaf water content collected from 54 tropical tree species. Data includes leaves collected from fully sunlit and shaded canopy strata as well as leaves for young, mature, old and senescent leaf ages. Data for each sample includes the relative age estimate, leaf canopy position and sample number. This data was collected as part of the 2017 NGEE-Tropics / NASA G-LiHT airborne campaign. See related datasets for sample details including photographs, leaf-level optical properties (i.e. reflectance and transmittance) and leaf carbon and nitrogen.

Details of leaves sampled for leaf water potential and gas exchange measurements from PA-SLZ, February 2017. Sunlit canopy leaves of APEIME, GUATDU, MICOBO, TERMAM, VIROSP and VOCHFE species were collected before dawn and around midday. Data for each sample includes species, age, sample number and a photograph. This data was collected as part of the 2017 BNL–STRI leaf traits by age campaign. See related datasets (existing and future) for leaf water potential, leaf spectra, sap flow, LMA, gas exchange and leaf chemistry.

This dataset contains snow water, precipitation, and discharge data collected from the East River watershed. This provides insight as to how the watershed works as a system and responds to hydrological perturbations.

Upper East sub-basins constructed 10/7/2016 using 10m digital elevation model obtained from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) National Elevation Data set (NED) and ArcGIS Hydrology tool box (ESRI v 10.3.1). Sub-watersheds are delineated as area contributing flow to SFA 2016 stream gage locations. Shapefile attributes include sub-basin ID, name, area (m2 and km2) and codes for spatial contributions to EBC and PH used by Carroll et al. (2018). Geospatial reference is UTM 1983 zone 13. JPEG image provided to show sub-basin delineation with respect to surface geology (Gothic Quadrangle: Gaskill et al., 1991; Maroon Bells Quadrangle: Bryant, 1969).
