  • This data set consists of 3D scanned aggregate surface mesh files (.stl) arranged according to a particle size distribution curve. Aggregates were scanned using a 3D structured light scanner by placing the aggregates on a wooden turntable and obtaining sufficient number of scans using the 3D scanner by slowly rotating the turntable.

  • This dataset contains significant data analysis products related to a manuscript entitled, “A Multiannual Record of Gravity Wave Activity in Mars's Lower Atmosphere from the Mars Climate Sounder,” which was published as: Heavens, N.G., D.M. Kass, A. Kleinböhl, and J.T. Schofield, 2020, A Multiannual Record of Gravity Wave Activity in Mars's Lower Atmosphere from On-Planet Observations by the Mars Climate Sounder, Icarus, 341, 113630, doi: 10.1016/j.icarus.2020.113630. These fall into three broad categories: diagnoses of detrended brightness temperature variance at 635-665 cm-1 in individual views in the nadir or off-nadir by Mars Climate Sounder on board Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter; averages and other statistics of those diagnoses in space and time; and estimated gravity wave visibility functions for nadir, off-nadir, and nadir views with baselines like off-nadir views.   • This file contains retrospective data collected from a single centre. Patients with a diagnosis of Rasmussen's encephalitis were included if they fulfilled the European consensus criteria (2005, Bien et al). Clinical data included age at onset, presentation, seizure characteristics, treatment details and Engel Score outcome. MRI data was generated by visual assessment of MRI characteristics. The research questions were: 1) Does macroscopic extent of radiological pathology and expedited Radiological Stage progression associate with a younger age at onset? 2) Are specific patterns of preferential sparing or involvement present within the hemisphere? 3) If present, Is there a pathophysiological link between anatomical patterns and the age peculiarities ?

  • SUMMARY Mimicry is ubiquitous in nature, yet understanding its origin and evolution is complicated by the scarcity of exceptional fossils that enable behavioural inferences about extinct animals. Here we report bizarre true bugs (Hemiptera) that closely resemble beetles (Coleoptera) from mid-Cretaceous amber. The unusual fossil bugs are described as Bersta vampirica gen. et sp. nov. and B. coleopteromorpha gen. et sp. nov., and are placed into a new family, Berstidae fam. nov. The specialised mouthparts of berstids indicate that they were predaceous on small arthropods and their striking beetle-like appearance implies that they mimicked beetles to attack unsuspecting prey; this unique association is not seen among extant insects and represents the first case of aggressive mimicry in the invertebrate fossil record. This rare example of fossilised behaviour enriches our understanding of the palaeoecological associations and extinct behavioural strategies of Mesozoic insects.

  • This dataset comprehends data and and associated R code used to run the analysis for the paper. We also include an R Markdown Dynamic document. We tested whether the amount of melanomacrophages and hepatic cellular catabolism substances are influenced by land use changes in the Brazilian Cerrado. Data contains the Environmental matrix (Q) composed of the land use classes for each samplimg site, species trait (R) matrix with content of each pigment in cells, averaged from all individuals, and species composition matrix (L) with the species incidence in all sampling sites.

  • Many qualitative and quantitative metrics have been developed to analyze the output of limited-channel EEG recordings in neonates. A significant roadblock in the widespread dissemination of these techniques is the device-specific, “black-box” nature of the analytic algorithms, preventing comparison between studies and the obsolescence of old recordings as software is abandoned. We have developed NEAT (Neonatal EEG Analysis Toolbox) as an open-source software platform to overcome these challenges. NEAT runs within MATLAB and is designed to work with any single-channel EEG input, regardless of source or sampling rate. This package includes MATLAB source code and a sample recording file for testing purposes.
