Description

Physical demands on players lead to a high rate of sports injuries. Stretching increases muscular resilience and flexibility, which is essential for preventing injuries. Customized stretching techniques for certain sports maximize athlete’s preparedness and output. Teaching players how to stretch properly promotes injury avoidance and improves long-term sports performance. By raising awareness of the value of appropriate stretching regimens, players may take proactive measures to maintain their physical health and reduce the risk of injury that comes with playing sports. The aim of this study was to promote awareness of specific stretching techniques to prevent sports injuries in sports person. An online survey was conducted in which 456 athletes of age criteria 18-25 years old were included. The questionnaire was sent via a URL shared through social media applications, emails, and internet forums. The responses obtained from each participant were examined using Google Forms to establish normality. 456 sports individuals responded to the questionnaire. Out of 456 responses 27.6% of people in the study accepted that pre activity stretching helped them in avoiding injuries, whereas 14.5% described that it never helped them at all. Athletes must master various stretching techniques to avoid sports injuries. Regular stretching decreases tension, improves muscular coordination, and increases flexibility. Stretching strategies designed for certain sports, such as pre- and post-exercise routines, improve performance and reduce injury risk. Coaches, trainers, and athletes should emphasize encouraging these habits to prevent injuries and improve physical preparation in sports.
