At Mendeley Data, we believe when data is openly available, the pace of scientific discovery is increased: researchers can verify findings, or reuse data to generate new findings.
When you make your data openly available, it increases confidence in your conclusions, and can potentially lead to more citations. All this means funding agencies and publishers are increasingly asking for data to be shared.
We knew we needed to provide a data sharing solution for our community, so Mendeley Data was launched in 2015, to enable researchers to post research data, gain greater exposure, and track usage of their data.
When you post your research data to Mendeley Data, it receives a Digital Object Identifier, so it can be referenced and cited. And we ensure your data will be securely and persistently available through our partnership with Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS). Every scientific dataset is archived in perpetuity with DANS.
We want data to be useful and reusable, so we encourage dataset authors to indicate the "steps to reproduce" the research that led to their data, to add useful metadata and to publish under an open licence. Quality badges, and viewership metrics, aim to help researchers find data that is more likely to be valuable.
Mendeley Data is developed in-house by a team of dedicated business and product people, developers and designers. We want to make a product that serves the community, whether an individual researcher, an academic department or lab group, or an entire institution. So we would love to hear your feedback on your research data needs and wants.
