The data shared here is secondary data from various sources such as the Crop Forecast Survey and the Population and Demographic Projections (PDP) of the Zambia Statistics Agency and The World Bank Climate data for rainfall. We use this data to evaluate determinants of Efficiency Change, Technological Change and the Malmquist Productivity Index for Small and Medium Scale Sorghum Farmers in Zambia. Our hypothesis is that the efficiency of sorghum production in Zambia is constrained by the lack of commercial utility entities in some regions in Zambia. Small and medium-scale sorghum producers are found in all of Zambia's administrative regions. Our findings indicate that the presence of sorghum utility companies in regions was a significant factor for raising Total Factor Productivity for small and medium scale sorghum producers in Zambia.
