Description

In this cross-sectional survey, a total of 1919 college-going adolescents in Bangladesh were included through a Google-based questionnaire platform. The survey included socio-demographic characteristics and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) questions. Before starting the survey, the questionnaire was translated and pre-tested in Bengali. To assess the dataset's feasibility and effectiveness, the pre-testing was done with a total of 43 adolescents. From this dataset, a manuscript titled 'Physio-Psychosocial Risk of Depression among College-Going Adolescents: A Cross-Sectional Study in Bangladesh' has published in the Journal of Affective Disorders Reports with doi: 10.1016/j.jadr.2024.100768.

In this study, data was collected through a cross-sectional survey conducted among college-going adolescents in Bangladesh. The study utilized a Google-based questionnaire platform to reach out to potential participants. A total of 1919 adolescents were included in the survey, which aimed to determine the physio-psychosocial risk of depression among college-going adolescents in Bangladesh. Before the commencement of the main survey, rigorous efforts were made to ensure the questionnaire's linguistic and cultural appropriateness. This involved translating the questionnaire into Bengali, the native language of the respondents, and conducting a pre-test with a sample of 43 adolescents to assess feasibility and effectiveness. The pre-testing phase allowed researchers to identify any potential issues with the questionnaire and make necessary adjustments prior to data collection.
