The instrument used in this survey study was a 40-item questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of three sections. The first part is used to find out basic statistics such as gender, grade, etc. of the respondents. The second part contains 29 items on the Likert five-point scale to investigate respondents' achievement emotion and technical efficacy (7 items), value appraisal (5 items), control appraisal (5 items), effort beliefs (6 items), and achievement goals (6 items) that may affect academic emotion. The Achievement Emotions Questionnaire (AEQ) compiled by Pekrun was selected (Pekrun, 2006). The present study selected six emotional dimensions in the questionnaire: enjoyment, hopefulness, pride, anxiety, hopelessness, and boredom.
