This dataset contains raw experimental data supporting the findings of the study investigating the effects of maternal chromium propionate supplementation on neonatal calves. The dataset includes maternal baseline characteristics (body weight, parity, body condition score, and dry matter intake), neonatal calf growth performance (birth weight, BW at 7, 14, and 21 d, and average daily gain), neonatal plasma chromium concentrations, oxidative stress-related biomarkers, meconium short-chain fatty acid concentrations, and Nrf2 signaling pathway-related protein concentrations. Detailed descriptions and units of all variables are provided in the metadata sheet.
