Description

The geodatabase containing all supplementary materials is called: Mercury_crater_rims.gdb Within this geodatabase are 15 files representing crater rims per quadrangle. The Geodatabase contains the information of this description and more details on the mapping in its description in the metadata. Each quadrangle file contains 7 attributes: Object ID*: This attribute is preassigned by ArcGIS Shape*: This attribute is preassigned by ArcGIS ID: Each mapped crater was assigned an ID (after merging all mapped segments of the crater rim) starting with 1 in each quadrangle. Crater Class: Each mapped crater was assigned a crater class (1 to 5) after Kinczyk et al. (2020). See manuscript for details. Shape_Length: Defines the length in meters of the entire mapped polyline for the crater calculated as spheroidal length using the Tools for Graphics and Shapes plug in by Jenness Enterprises (http://www.jennessent.com/arcgis/shapes_graphics.htm). Centroid_X: X coordinate of crater center in decimal degrees Centroid_Y: Y coordinate of crater center in decimal degrees
