Description

In this research, we conducted a comparative analysis of the gravimetric yield and quality of charcoal generated through two different carbonization methods: the continuous industrial process and the laboratory-scale process, utilizing commercially sourced Eucalyptus and Corymbia wood from rapidly growing plantations. Our results highlight that the laboratory-scale carbonization process yielded higher gravimetric and fixed carbon quantities, while exhibiting lower higher heating value and ash content values in contrast to the continuous industrial unit. Interestingly, the fixed carbon and volatile materials content remained consistent across different genetic materials and carbonization systems.
