Description

About: The Security studies as a discipline has had a limited history in and on North Macedonia. There has been no assessment done on the extent of the security research conducted in and on North Macedonia. The assumption is that there has been limited research conducted that in turn has negatively impacted on the visibility of the country in the academic research in the field of security studies. To overcome this gap, the dataset, firstly, maps the randomly selected articles published from 1991 to 2022 by scholars from North Macedonia in security studies academic journals concerning the areas that these scholars work in, the theories and methods they apply, and their geographical areas of interest. The aim is to generate previously unexplored findings on the solidity and impact of relevant research. Secondly, the dataset maps randomly selected articles published from 1991 to 2022 in security studies academic journals by foreign authors and that include North Macedonia as a case study. This part aims to identify the areas that foreign security scholars work in, the theories and methods they apply when researching on North Macedonia. Keywords: North Macedonia, security studies, discipline, research. By: Islam Jusufi. Researcher, Skopje, North Macedonia.
