Steps to reproduce

To adapt the original English-language questionnaire for use in a Chinese context, a rigorous translation and validation process was followed. Initially, English lecturers at Henan University translated the instrument into Chinese using Brislin’s (1980) back-translation method. Subsequently, two tourism professors from the same university reviewed the draft to ensure terminological accuracy and contextual clarity within the tourism domain. A pilot test was then conducted with 15 randomly selected tourists, whose feedback on item comprehensibility, wording clarity, and questionnaire length informed final refinements to the instrument. The finalized questionnaire was administered offline in November 2023 across key locations in Kaifeng City, China, including major tourist attractions, commercial areas, and transportation hubs, using convenience sampling to recruit Chinese respondents. Prior to completion, research team members briefly explained the study’s purpose and content, after which participants independently filled out the questionnaire based on their personal perceptions and preferences. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS 26.0 and SmartPLS 4.0.
