Out-of-plane Mechanical Characterization of Acicular Mullite and Aluminum Titanate Diesel Particulate Filters
Also described in ReadMe.txt Attached is the raw mechanical data used for the determination of failure stengths and elastic moduli for diesel particulate filters composed of acicular mullite and aluminum titanate. All raw data from mechanical testing is located in RawMechanicalData.xlsx Specimen geometries for all testing configurations are located in SampleGeometries.xlsx Processed data for calculations of Failure Stress and Elastic Modulus are in StressAndModulusCalculations.xlsx
Steps to reproduce
Also described in ReadMe.txt Failure strengths and moduli of rupture can be determined using the peak loads from each specimen normalized to specimen area (engineering stress). Elastic Moduli can be determined by removing machine compliance from each specimen (compliance curves are located in RawMechanicalData.xlsx) and measuring the slope of the engineering stress strain curve. Weibull Moduli for each testing configuration and material can be calculated using peak loads and with the following ranking system: (Probability of Failure) = ((sample rank) - 0.5)/(Total Number of Samples) This ranking system is used because it is better suited to small numbers of samples.
