ABSTRACT Background: Archery is a skilful sport which is enthusiastically played by adolescent girls and boys. Archery greatly emphasise physical fitness by concentrating on enhancement of coordination, strength, control, patience and self confidence. Purpose: To develop physical fitness skills in relation to Archery using hand grip strength among adolescent boys and girls. Method: Individuals playing Archery aged 13-20 years will be taken randomly for the study. 100 subjects shall be taken as sample size. Snowball non-randomised sampling shall be further used for sample collection on the basis of inclusion criteria, from recognized sport associations of Haryana and Maharishi Markendeshwar Institute of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Anthropometric rod, forward head posture, hand held dynamometer, pinch dynamometer to measure muscle strength of hand muscles will be taken from all participants. Result: Archery is a sport which equally needs great concentration on fitness of upper body than lower body. The correlation between Body Mass Index, Forward Head Posture, Hand grip strength and pinch strength has no correlation but pinch strength and hand grip strength shows a correlation. Conclusion: Strength of hand grip and pinch grip muscles is greater in archery players than the non archery players.
