The regional ocean model, which covers the whole Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and parts of the northwestern Pacific Ocean and East/Japan Sea developed by Yang et al. (2011, 2012) is used. Based on the outputs of numerical experiments, the KE transfer among different spatial scales is computed by a coarse-graining approach employing the top-hat filter kernel, following previous works (e.g., Aliue et al., 2018; Srinivasan et al., 2019).
