Description

A repository for a subset of the data used in the paper “Firm stock returns and employee health: Evidence from taxi trips to hospitals in New York City”. The Excel file contains daily data on the weather (mean temperature, mean sea level pressure, mean wind speed, snow, and precipitation) at LaGuardia airport and daily data on air pollution levels (CO, NO2, Ozone, PM2.5) in the New York-Newark-Jersey City metropolitan area, in the United States. The data cover the period from January 1, 2008 to June 30, 2016. These time series are based on public domain data obtained from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) and from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Documentation can be found in the Microsoft Word file. This work was supported by the British Academy [grant number SRG22\220800].
