The participants of this study were 815 (442 secondary and 373 senior secondary) school students aged 13–18 years. The sample included 428 male and 387 female students. These students were from nine schools (5 private and 4 public) of U.P. state of India, selected randomly. Initially, the scale was administered on 850 students, but 35 students were excluded due to missing values on more than five items. To collect the data, the researchers contacted administrators of various schools and requested for permission to collect the data. The participation of the students was voluntary, and students were assured of the confidentiality of their responses. The data was collected during school hours.
