Description

ABSTRACT | BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Inactivity and improper lifestyle lead to the development of Mechanical Low Back pain (MLBP) which is a common condition in adult population. The origination of Low Back pain (LBP) is due to any problem related to spinal cord, disc or the surrounding structures and it is of different types i.e., mechanical, neural, nociceptive and nociplastic. There are many treatments like electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and exercise which had to be proven effective in LBP, among them vibration therapy is the one. However, there is no study done which shows a combined effect of vibration and mobilisation in this condition. This study is going to conclude the effects of mechanical vibration and spinal mobilization in patients with MLBP. METHOD/DESIGN: After fulfilling the inclusion criteria we randomly allocate 40 participants into two groups (Interventional and control group) with age of 18-28years. A consent will be taken prior to the study. Interventional group will receive mechanical vibration and spinal mobilization and control group will get spinal mobilization and sham treatment. Outcome will be measured with the help of Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), Pressure Pain Threshold (PPT). DISCUSSION: This study is randomized control trial which will be showing the combined effects of mechanical vibration and spine mobilization in subjects with MLBP. Result will be calculated on the basic of NPRS and PPT.
