Description

Dataset of a survey of simulated coupled map lattice (CML) systems, associated with the following paper: <LINK>, which contains full information such as map parameters and coupling matric definitions. Dataset contains: - Information defining the system and the simulation - System metrics computed using the entire simulation - Series metrics computed using a time series of a single observed dimension Column definitions can be found in the readme.csv file Data for 4 studies is located in 4 separate files: CML_attractors_2025-02-25_123739.csv - Study exploring the possibility of systems containing multiple chaotic attractors. Each system is simulated from 20 randomised starting points, and metrics are computed on the resulting simulations. (452 systems) CML_dim_choice_2025-02-24_112247.csv - Study exploring the effects of changing the observed dimension. Series metrics are computed on every dimension of each simulated system. (177 systems) CML_map_order_2025-02-24_111840.csv - Study exploring the effects of changing the ordering of the maps in the CML. System is simulated for each unique permutation of map orderings, and system metrics are computed for each simulation. (144 systems) CML_survey.csv - Broad survey of many systems, with system metrics computed for all systems simulated and series metrics computed for all chaotic systems. (2,301 systems)

Steps to reproduce

All systems were simulated from the starting values given for 1,510,000 time steps. All metrics were computed using timesteps 10,001 - 60,000 except for the NIST tests, which use 10,001 - 1,510,000. More information about the methodology can be found in the linked paper. The versions and packages used were: Python = 3.11.5 numpy = 1.26.4 teaspoon = 1.5.2 neurokit2 = 0.2.10 nolds = 0.5.2 antropy = 0.1.6 nistrng = 1.2.3
