Description

This is the research data on flow resistance for sheet flow subjected to raindrop impact. Experimental setup: The rainfall simulation experiments were conducted in the artificial rainfall simulation hall of the State Key Laboratory of Soil Erosion and Dryland Farming on the Loess Plateau in Yangling, China. The flume was 6.0 m long, 0.25 m wide, and 0.3 m deep. The bed of the flume was impervious. The downward sprinkler nozzles of the rainfall simulator were set 18 m above the flume. The uniformity of simulated rainfalls was >85%. Experimental design: Flume tests with five rainfall intensities (40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 mm h-1) and three constant inflow discharges (0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08 and 0.1 m2 min-1) and three slope gradient (5.2%, 8.7%, and 12.3%) were simulated for each scenario. Three different bed surfaces (Ks = 0.009, 0.12, and 0.25 mm) were used. The experimental data measurement mainly includes average flow velocity and mean water depth of whole flume. In addition, the dataset also includes video of the water depth measurement of the sheet flow.
