Description

These data describe the fatty acid profile of Xiphopenaeus spp. separated by sex and age of two distinct regions (Cananéia in and Ubatuba) from state of São Paulo, Brazil. Analyzes were conducted through muscle samples. Acid methyl esters were extracted from the freeze-dried samples using a direct transesterification procedure with 2.5% (v:v) sulphuric acid in methanol as described by De Troch et al. (2012). Fatty acids composition analysis of the shrimps was carried out using a gas chromatograph (GC) (HP 7890B, Agilent Technologies, Diegem, Belgium) equipped with a flame ionization detector (FID) and connected to an Agilent 5977A Mass Selective Detector (MSD) (Agilent Technologies, Diegem, Belgium).
