Description

This dataset is for a novel testing method for triple-shape memory polymers. These materials are able to fix two different temporary shapes, which occur after each other before reaching the permanent shape. Currently, the exact quantification of the individual steps regarding their programming and recovery rate is rather difficult, because both deformation steps are performed in the same direction (i.e. tension or torsion). Our novel approach for the analysis allows the exact quantification of all process within the triple shape-memory polymer. Therefore a novel rheology protocol is applied, which allows to perform and to analyze torsional and tensional experiments simultaneously. Consequently, different shapes in different directions (vertical and horizontal) can be fixed and the individual steps can be investigated independently at the different temperatures switching temperatures.
