CatFISH-derived data on neuronal activity patterns in several brain structures considering reward memory in rat

Description

Raw results of the experiment seeking differences between a novel and consolidated association of spatial cues and amphetamine administration, using an in-situ hybridisation method to track the short-term dynamics during the recall testing. The data covers 16 rats, 8 with recent and 8 with remote spatial-amphetamine association at the moment of data acquisition (Memory column). CatFISH method applied here allowed us to capture brain activity at two time points corresponding to two entries into the experimental cage. The activity is given for 14 brain structures: BLA – basolateral amygdala; CeA – central amygdala; LA – lateral amygdala; CA1 – hippocampus CA1; CA3 – hippocampus CA3; CPu – caudate putamen; DG – dentate gyrus; IL – infralimbic cortex; NAcc core – nucleus accumbens core; NAcc shell – nucleus accumbens shell; PrL – prelimbic cortex; RSA – agranular retrosplenial cortex; RSG – granular retrosplenial cortex; VTA – ventral tegmental area; and as 4 descriptors: any – fraction of nuclei active at any entry; 1st – fraction of nuclei active at the first entry; 1st exclusively – fraction of nuclei active at first entry but not at the second; 2nd – fraction of nuclei active at the second entry; 2nd exclusively – fraction of nuclei active at second entry but not at the first; both – fraction of nuclei active at both; co-localisation – coefficient of co-localisation, equal to both/(1st * 2nd). Additionally, the data contains columns describing behavioural propensity towards the conditioned area of the experimental cage, Correct 1st and Correct 2nd.
