The survey data was collected to assess the perception of citizens regarding the provision of quality information by a government agency on social media and its influence on their perception of transparency, trust, responsiveness of the agency and citizens' online political participation. The responses were taken from 388 social media (Facebook and Twitter) followers of a government agency i.e. Punjab Food Authority.

Steps to reproduce
The participants (social media followers) were approached randomly and the survey data was collected online by means of Google forms during the period of April to August 2019.
