"Informal networks and education choice: a dynamic macro model" - numerical simulations code
Description
We present here the Matlab code used for the numerical simulations of the paper "Informal networks and education choice: a dynamic macro model". The simulations present the properties of the equilibria of our model via bifurcation diagrams.

Hello! This folder contains the Matlab code used to generate all the figures in the paper "Informal Networks and Education Choice: A Dynamic Macro Model", by Alessia Cafferata, Davide Radi, and Daniele Ravasi, published in Economic Modelling. ++++++ How to Generate the Figures ++++++ To generate a figure, simply open the corresponding Matlab file and run it. Each file is named exactly as the figure it generates — for example, to reproduce Figure 1, open and run the script Figure 1.m. There are no external dependencies required to run the code. ++++++ Parameters and Calibration ++++++ Each script is pre-calibrated according to the settings described in the caption of the respective figure. Parameter values are defined at the beginning of each file, usually around the third line. You are welcome to experiment with alternative parameter values by modifying them directly in that section. ++++++ Subfigure Structure ++++++ Each figure in the paper is composed of three subfigures: (a), (b), and (c). We follow the same structure in the code. For instance, in Figure 1.m, the section between: % Start SubFigure a ... % Graphical representation of the bifurcation diagram (SubFigure a): End reproduces Subfigure (a) of Figure 1, and similarly for the others. ++++++ Code Readability ++++++ We have added comments throughout each script to clarify the logic and make the code as self-explanatory as possible. The scripts are designed to be accessible to users with basic knowledge of Matlab.
