Outcomes of Basiliximab and Alemtuzumab Induction in Kidney Allograft Recipients with matched immunological risk profile; a retrospective matched cohort study

Description

This dataset contains retrospective clinical and outcome data from kidney transplant recipients between 2014 and 2019. The variables include recipient demographics (age, sex, ethnicity, body mass index, primary renal disease), donor characteristics (donor age, CMV/EBV serostatus, living or deceased donor), transplant-related factors (cold ischemia time, induction therapy, HLA mismatch, panel reactive antibody, crossmatch results), and post-transplant immunosuppression. Clinical outcomes include kidney function at 3 and 12 months post-transplant (eGFR), infectious complications (CMV, EBV, and BK virus infections), acute rejection, malignancy, graft survival, and patient survival. Dates and direct identifiers have been removed or replaced with derived variables (e.g., age categories, time-to-event intervals) to ensure anonymisation and patient confidentiality. The dataset is suitable for analyses of immunological risk, comparative outcomes of induction regimens, and long-term transplant survival.

Steps to reproduce

The data for this study was extracted from two hospitals. Data wa sourced from the hospitals' electronic patient records (EPR), comprising relevant information obtained from clinical letters, records, and laboratory results. Data collection continued until clinical endpoints of graft loss, patient death, loss to follow-up, or study conclusion on December 31, 2021. Subjects were censored at the occurrence of any of the above endpoints, whichever came first.
