An experimental design with 30 MPs was used, numbered 1 to 24 for microplots (MPs) under the systen agrivoltaic (AVS) and 25 to 30 for control MPs in open-field conditions. Each MP covered an area of 2.5 m × 2.5 m, with a height of 20 cm and 1.25 m³ of soil for cultivation. The soil was a mixture by volume of site field soil, compost, manure, and fine tezontle (volcanic rock) to enhance porosity, in a ratio of 5:1:1:1. Ten vegetable species were selected based on their economic importance in the region, climatic suitability, and tolerance to partial shading conditions. The plants were sown on September 14, 2023, and production measurements were taken once the crops reached their harvest cycle. The vegetables were planted every 50 cm at a density of 2.6 plants/m², aligned east to west in four rows per MP (L1, L2, L3, L4) and north to south in four rows (a, b, c, d). Each MP was planted with two different species with similar water and nutrient requirements, grouped into five categories: A, B, C, D, and E.
