Description

To use realist evaluation methodology to explore and understand the impact of a three-year implementation of the Health Care Team Challenge (HCTC) underpinned by interprofessional practice and education principles upon health professionals’ practice at the National University Hospital (NUH) of Singapore. Ten semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore participants’ views of the HCTC. The interviews were transcribed, and the data were analyzed. The data includes semi-structured interview questions, a reflective diary, the interview schedule, samples of transcripts, and research decision making.

A semi-structured interview was chosen as a research method to collect information for the study. All interviews were recorded using a digital recorder. Transcription began immediately after the interview and was completed within 2 weeks. Themes emerged during the transcription of the interviews using an iterative process and were constantly considered and revised until no new concepts occurred. The final combination of themes and sub themes were then shared and agreed with the co-author of this article.
