ThielViewer - an interactive visualization tool for: Do emergency ventilators deliver preset tidal volumes? - Mechanical ventilation in a human cadaver model of asynchronous cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
This repository contains a compiled software tool to process and review respiratory data from CSV files on Windows operating systems. It was written for a raw dataset obtained in a study of simulated CPR in Thiel-embalmed cadavers [research paper - coming soon]. The tool visualizes measured flow, airway pressure and esophageal pressure. Additionally, it derives and plots volumes, as well as transpulmonary pressure, as described in the accompanying data publication [data publication - coming soon]. To improve orientation, the program can highlight segments of the study protocol within the tracings. The plots are fully interactive, can be rescaled, zoomed in, and panned back and forth.
Steps to reproduce
Execute application and follow steps of data import. All raw data files from corresponding recordings of a cadaver have to be stored in the same folder in order to be plotted. Naming of the recording files has to be as follows, '*flow.csv', '*pressure_airway.csv', and '*pressure_esophageal.csv'. Also a corresponding Excel-File with timestamps form the laboratory notebook has to be stored in the same folder, named '*LabNotes.xlsx'. MATLAB Runtime 9.5, R2018b (MathWorks, Natick, Massachusetts, United States) has to be installed. In order to ease the installation process this repository contains an executable web-installer.
