Description

These data correspond to the article "Effect of surface material properties and operating conditions on the heat flux and temperature distributions in the cavity receiver of a solar-dish-coupled biomass gasification reactor". By means of the Monte-Carlo ray-tracing software SolTrace®, the absorbed radiant flux density maps on the cavity receiver surfaces were obtained. Several values of solar absorptance, receiver specularity error and solar-dish tracking error were studied. The maps obtained for each of the values, as well as the corresponding power distribution charts, are presented in these data. Also, temperature contours were obtained employing a CFD model of the reactor on ANSYS® CFX® R18.2. The 3D images of the CFD simulation results are also comprised in these data as 3D graphic object files. These object files can be opened with the freeware 3D Ansys CFD Viewer.
