Description

The files SFT_81d7_PSD_ave&STDA, equatorward_PSD.txt and poleward_PSD.txt refer to Figure 2 and 3 respectively of the paper " Turbulence Power Spectra in Regions Surrounding Jupiter's South Polar Cyclones from Juno/JIRAM " submitted to JGR planets. They contain average power spectral densities (PSDs) from JIRAM data acquired at Jupiter's South Pole. The PSDs are computed by means of FFT applied to circular brightness scans extracted from JIRAM images. In the file SFT_81d7_PSD_ave&STDA the wavenumber bin values (column 1), the average PSD (column 2) and the error bars (column 3), related to the equatorward dataset of the Juno’s 4th perijove, are reported. The files equatorward_PSD.txt and poleward_PSD.txt refer to PSDs computed for regions equatorward and poleward the ring of cyclones at Jupiter's South Pole. In both files the first column contains the wavenumber bin values, while in column 2 to column 7 the PSDs from six Juno perijove's passes are reported. The files 170202_150120_b10sq1 and 170202_150120_b10sq2 refer to panel c of Figure 4 and 5 respectively, i.e. the zoomed in areas of the JIRAM JIR_IMG_RDR_2017033T150327 image. These data are in ENVI BSQ format, that is they are stored as a binary stream of bytes. They are accompanied by the ASCII header files 170202_150120_b10sq1.hdr and 170202_150120_b10sq2.hdr.
